Day 36: Wednesday, April 10, 2019
Record my misery;
list my tears on your scroll—
are they not in your record?
9 Then my enemies will turn back
when I call for help.
By this I will know that God is for me.
10 In God, whose word I praise,
in the Lord, whose word I praise—
11 in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can man do to me?
12 I am under vows to you, my God;
I will present my thank offerings to you.
13 For you have delivered me from death
and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life.
It could be said that the constant cry of the Old Testament is to be better known by God while the New Testament is an enduring plea to know Him more. Our lives in faith follow the same pattern. We desire to be known and we hit a certain point, perhaps a mid-faith crisis, where we begin to yearn more to know Him. It seems that this may be a natural path both in life and in faith. Perhaps it is even a map for every relationship.
Lord, You know me because You have made me. You know my tears better than I do. You are with me in my misery and You are there when I call for help. Help me to let go of anything that keeps me from knowing You more. Help me to let go of walking my way so that I can walk with You.
